Colours of the Middle Ages

Beneath the vaults of the Town Hall, the ensemble Hortus Musicus performs the music of the European Middle Ages in its uniquely personal way: vivid and full of life, at times quietly devout (songs of praise to Mary), at times robustly humorous (didactic songs from the collection Carmina Burana).

Rare instruments such as the crumhorn and the shawm are used, each adding its own colour to the ensemble’s palette.
